Returning to Work: An Update from Sabrina Wottreng
I began my professional pause in January 2023, ahead of welcoming our daughter in February. My plan was to return to work in July. Babies have a way of laughing at your plans, and the time away from the business allowed me to consider what returning to work would mean and look like.
Trusting my gut
Over the years, I’ve honed my intuition about projects and clients, so in May, when HelloData.ai reached out, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to get back to work. I’ve previously worked with the founding team members; they are doing industry-leading work, and my team has well-established tech and CRE relationships to support their PR efforts. Best of all, we’re able to deliver the right, high-impact results with minimal client interfaces.
Providing best-in-class service
My agency has a reputation - a good one. We outperform previously retained agencies and have deep subject matter experience in commercial real estate and PropTech. As I consider and reconsider fully returning to work, setting myself, my team, and my clients up for success is paramount.
While I planned to ramp up in July, I didn’t have the right infrastructure in place to do so. (Namely - predictable child care.) Without a predictable schedule, time-sensitive and meeting-intensive work becomes nearly impossible.
When I return to work full-time, I want to lead the agency and clients in the high-touch manner they have become accustomed to. Instead of sacrificing my mental health and risking my best-in-class reputation, I continue to pause taking on new clients and projects.
Network
I have an extensive network of publicists, digital marketers, copywriters, graphic designers - and everything in between. I’m happy to make connections. Connecting is one of my favorite activities as a publicist. If you have been referred my way or were going to inquire about working with me, still reach out. The best way to get in touch with me is by email - sw@sabrinawottreng.com.
I’d love to learn more about your business and goals and make the right connections to help you achieve them.
